Privacy.

This explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. It is written to be read rather than to cover us, so if something here is unclear just ask.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote we collect your name, mobile, email, suburb, the details of the property and anything you type in the notes field. If you tick the marketing box we also record that you consented, and when.

If you become a customer we keep a service record — addresses, access arrangements, your checklist, what was done and when, and invoices. For NDIS participants that may include the fact you are an NDIS participant and how your plan is managed. We do not ask for, and do not want, details of your disability or any health information.

How the quote form works

Worth knowing, because it is unusual: our quote form does not send your details to a server. It opens your own email program with the fields filled in, and you press send. That means your enquiry travels from your email account to ours and nowhere else — the website never receives or stores it.

If we later switch to a hosted form, we will update this page and name the provider.

Where it goes

Our email runs on Microsoft 365. Customer records and invoices are kept in our business accounts. If you consent to marketing, your email address goes into an email platform so we can send and you can unsubscribe — we will name the provider here once chosen.

This website is hosted by Vercel and is a set of static files. Vercel receives the usual technical information involved in serving a page, including IP addresses. Our page analytics are cookieless and do not identify you.

What we never do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not use trackers that follow you to other websites, and we run no advertising pixels.

We will never photograph inside your home without asking you first, and never publish a photo that identifies your property.

Marketing emails

You only receive these if you ticked the box. Every one has a one-click unsubscribe that we action within five business days, and usually the same day. Replying "stop" works too.

How long we keep things

Quote enquiries that do not become jobs: about twelve months. Customer and invoice records: seven years, because tax law requires it. Marketing consent: until you withdraw it.

Seeing or deleting your information

Email us and we will tell you what we hold and send you a copy. Ask us to correct it and we will. Ask us to delete it and we will, except invoices we are legally required to keep.

Our size, and what that means

We are a small business. Under the Privacy Act 1988 most businesses turning over under $3 million are exempt from the Australian Privacy Principles, and at present that includes us. We have written this policy and work to it anyway, because it is the right way to handle somebody’s home address. If our turnover passes that threshold, or our obligations otherwise change, we will update this page.
